hi

i have a mercury 9.9 which for some reason will not run properly. whilst in neatral it will rev freely but once in gear and under way if go to accelorate it starts to stall and you have to back off the throtle.

any ideas of what to do would be great

You have a fuel problem. If the fuel is fresh you might try pumping the primer ball at the same time and see if that helps. There could be a weak fuel pump or carburetor issue.
