If you want to get rid of the fish smell on your hands after cutting herring plugs and spinners here's the trick. Someone just showed me and it works great. Just wash your hands with soap and add a couple of table spoons of sugar. Works best with a liquid soap but the key is to scrub your hands together until the sugar dissolves and gets into the finger nails and cuticles etc.
You'll be amazed. Works well in getting rid of other fish oders as well. Try it. _________________ Save yourself a headache and charter! |

Hey, that works great. I would have never guessed that I could get the herring smell out of my hands by just using a little sugar. Truely amazing and simple! Thanks. _________________ Fisherman |

Remember to let your hands sit a few minutes with the soap and sugar so there is time for the ingrediants to react. _________________ Save yourself a headache and charter! |

| I've tried many things for removing the fish smell from my hands. I must admit the sugar idea, I read here, works best for me. I've also used other things like lemon juice. Both from the bottle and from cutting up a lemon and squeezing the wedges onto my hands and then washing hands with water and/or soap. I've heard people also use toothpaste to scrub the fish smell off of hands and arms. But the sugar is easy. |

| I'll have to try the sugar treatment, but my wife bought some type of super soap at a garden store and it said gets rid of oders on your hands from garlic, onions, and fish she says. So I tried it and it works great, but I have long lost the label so I have no idea of the name but it would not hurt to keep you eyes open at the nurseries and plant stores. just a thought. |
